About Villa Bongi
VILLA BONGI is situated about 7 kilometres from the walls of Lucca, next to one of the city's famous natural springs, the Polla dei Bongi. The villa has been put to many uses in the past as a farmer's family home and even an oratory. Located on the lush green hills of Lucca, the villa is surrounded by forest and a large garden with an eighteenth century fountain, once used as an open-air bath. For many years the villa has operated as a restaurant and since 2005 it has been under the direction of Chef Marco Ribechini.
Inside the restaurant is composed of two charming rooms and a large terrace with panoramic views. The menù presents a mix of the modern and the traditional, with a focus on ingredients of high qualiy and of local produce. The cellar offers a vast range of local and regional wines.
Thanks to an additional ceremony room and a large open air pergola, the villa also makes a great location for parties and weddings.
Price guide: full a la cartè menu €30-35. Special menus, including 'light lunch' for groups and wine tasting available on request.
